Old fashion and clean GREAT food

Thought we’d give this a try based on reviews. Mid-morning on a weekday it took forever to have a waitress take our order, and during our interactions with her it felt like we were definitely an inconvenience. Several folks came in after we did and were done & leaving before we received our food. If you have the good fortune of being a regular, this place is probably pretty good. If you’re not, well you can spend your hour waiting for two plates of eggs being shot frosty glances of disdain & feeling like you have been a disappointment since you walked in the door.

It was lunch time and we were hungry. Walking down Main Street, we noticed a party of 4 just leaving the restaurant. We asked them how everything was. Their response had us opening the door to this quaint little family venture. Definitely not disappointed (except that they changed from Coke to Pepsi products!). A classic club w/fries and a hot turkey sandwich with lots of gravy and fries were the choice for lunch. Huge portions! I've been craving a hot turkey sandwich from a diner for months! The fries with gravy were delicious. No ketchup needed today! Sadly, the food did get cold before I was ready to stop eating but I did some serious damage to that plate! If you love a diner with great food and prices, this is the spot!

Excellent customer service and good food

The people here are great. Nothing like getting off the bike trail for a very reasonable priced meal and hitting the trail again.

The service was great, the food was excellent and the price of the food was very reasonable. We ate omelets and corn beef hash. I would recommend Purcellville Family Restaurant.

Just GREAT HOME MEALS at reasonable prices

Food and service was terrific. Nothing like big chain restaurants. Miss Betty and all the ladies are terrific.

Okay, you must understand that the sausage gravy here is about the best in the world. Their entire breakfast menu is heavenly. The sausage patties and gravy are made in house.

Is this place struggling? Have they ever heard of Mr. Clean other spray cleaners? The front door was FILTHY!Pleasant and efficient wait help but overall, sorry we went there.

Great local restaurant. We wanted to avoid the chain restaurants on our vacation to VA and the PFR was the perfect alternative. Had a very local vibe. Large portions and reasonable prices.

Walls dirty. Waitress acted like she hated her job. Omelette was good.

From the moment you come to this restaurant the personel give you a pleasant feeling. Very warm hosts, it is a happy restaurant to enjoy with buddies or with your date. Great cooking, qualified chief cook and stuff, good cost and nice service. Warmly recommended.

Having just moved to the area, we were delighted ti find this place. Simply a great mom and pop restaurant with delicious food and friendly staff. Even though it was packed when we we arrived, we were promptly seated and the food came out exactly when it should have. Definitely a place with regulars as the waitresses knew nearly everyone by their first names.If you are looking for "ambiance" go somewhere else, but if you are looking for great food in a nice small town, then this us your place!

A no frills, lovely diner- excellent staff, great food!

This restaurant should be duplicated and the staff cloned so everyone could experience this level of outstanding service and great food. The pricing makes you realize you have been robbed everywhere else you have been going, they are very inexpensive.The breakfast platter is the stuff of legends. The homestyle cooking makes everything great and the menu is filled with options for every taste.The location is great, parking is free and easy.

I love it! Great food like you used to be able to get everywhere years ago! This place seems like it's stuck in the 50s or 60s when restaurants made food that was just like home cooking! Lots of food and great prices!

Small Town place with a lot of charm. Has some ground rules before you make yourself comfortable.See a long line? It's not a wait to be seated place, so go find yourself a table. You can get your coffee much faster if you just pour it yourself and menu are in the dining area next to the fridges, you may want to grab those yourself as well.Betty is good natured and lots of fun but I'm a regular. My advice, don't get turned off by the seemingly standoffish behavior. This place is meant to make you feel at home.

Hometown Feeling and the food was good.Steak and Cheese with Fries delicious!Egg and Cheese Sub was also good (cheese was cold and not melted so it took away from being delicious)We'd visit again for sure if passing through but would not make a special trip.

Not fancy, but the "home cooked" feel cant be beat. Great price, good portions, and lots of variety. Walked in here by accident, and was pleasantly surprised. The ladies there are sweet as pie, and be sure to give them a little love on the way out!

This place has awesome food, friendly staff, and a old-country-store feel. Try the sausage or chipped beef gravy for breakfast...so good! Huge portions too! Best spot in town, any time of day, but be prepared to wait a little at peak times.

Won't be back. Came in around 11:30 am. Not busy at all. Only 7 or 8 other people in the place. Young lady came by and got my drink order, came back pretty quickly, but didnt offer to take my order. After about 15-20 min of being ignored, I got up to pay for my drink and leave. While at the register another waitress said she was about to come get my order. I said no thanks, paid for the tea and left. The only reason I gave 1 star is because it was really hot outside and the tea tasted ok. Bad first impression, probably won't return.

My favorite place to eat. Basic menu but all items well prepared and no skimpy services. Wait staff is great. Prices are reasonable. If you're looking for upscale this is not for you. If you like good food in a down home restaurant, this is it.

Love this place. I just wish Nick was still owner and cook. He made the best steak.
